We are looking for a versatile individual with a passion for licence compliance and software asset management to join the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) as our new Software Asset Management Analyst.
We consist of 3 business units: AMRC, Nuclear AMRC and AMRC Training Centre. These fast paced, complex areas have differing IT requirements. Therefore, establishing a deep understanding of what each area does, what software and services they use / need is a crucial element of this new role.
Reporting to the IT Asset Manager within Service Operations and Governance in University IT Services you will become the primary point of contact for all things software at the AMRC. Reporting centrally into an established University community of practice will enable you to facilitate collaboration and alignment of IT asset management processes with the University.
As a highly visible member of our team, you will:
- Work with key research, academic and professional services stakeholders across the 3 units. Additionally, you will be embedded within central University IT and look to establish good relationships with key software vendors and suppliers.
- Support accurate record keeping and propagate the use of industry leading software to analyse and handle software assets including a diverse range of academic, research, proprietary, industry and commercial software that is used to enable our world class manufacturing research and teaching.
- Demonstrate strong team-working, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, combined with excellent digital literacy.
- Be proactive and have an eye for detail seeking ways to continually improve our processes, increase compliance and reduce risk.
