Deadline: 19 Feb 2024

Please note: Previous applicants need not re-apply.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Shared Infrastructure Services programme working in the Digital Transformation area as a Senior Business Analyst.

The Digital Transformation work will ensure that the University has the robust, reliable and high-performing people, processes and technology that it requires to support the distinctive needs of those engaged in teaching, learning, research and administration.

This role will work collaboratively across all divisions of the University, bringing teams together to gather requirements and make decisions about how we can share the right services for the benefit of the University.

What We Offer

As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees’ wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:

  • An excellent contributory pension scheme
  • 38 days annual leave
  • A comprehensive range of childcare services
  • Family leave schemes
  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
  • Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs

This is a hybrid role meaning that whilst you will be based in our offices in central Oxford – and will be expected to come to site as required for key project activities and practice meetings – you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

About the Role

  • As a business analyst in the Shared Infrastructure Services programme, you will work collaboratively with representatives from departments and colleges, end-users and technical teams to identify and shape services to meet the needs of the University. You will use your University knowledge and work closely with the programme manager to organise workshops, collect requirements and define technical and organisational needs.
  • This role will also be supported by the well-established business analysis team so there will be appropriate training and guidance to help you develop key skills and capabilities as part of this opportunity.
  • The role is part of the University’s Digital Transformation programme so the work will be fast-paced and key to delivering cultural, process and technology changes across the organisation.

About You

Do you have a passion for IT infrastructure and making things work more smoothly at the University? You may work in an IT role and you may be wondering why we don’t do things in a more joined up way already across the University.

  • You will have a good understanding of the University’s structures and ways of working. You will appreciate how shared IT infrastructure may offer opportunities to improve services and underlying processes. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to shape your messaging to different audiences and bring teams together to make real change at the University.
  • You will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex issues and propose effective workable solutions. You will have proven experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders, building strong relationships so that you can understand user needs and represent their voice in this strategic programme of work.
  • You will be adaptable and flexible in your approach, able to change your direction based on changing demands and priorities. You will be a self-starter, able to look at a high-level description of a piece of work and shape it to provide the best outcome for the University.
