About us:

The School of Engineering have a vacancy for an Aerospace Engineering Technician to join the wider technical team. The post will be based on the university’s Frenchay campus within brand new Engineering facilities, and wind tunnel test facilities. This post is student facing and provides expert technical instruction and support to academics, students and researchers. It is an exciting opportunity to join this enthusiastic team delivering high quality engineering education at UWE.

About you:

The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of aerospace engineering, with extensive knowledge and experience of physical and digital simulation techniques – including wind tunnel testing and maintenance. Ideally you will have experience of teaching or mentoring, which is a key part of the role, and be comfortable and confident demonstrating systems and equipment groups and individuals. You will enjoy problem solving and be enthusiastic about aerospace engineering, with an inquisitive and collaborative attitude toward learning. You may be asked to design, make and assemble test equipment; and although well supported by others in the technical team, to work on tasks autonomously and without direct supervision.

This is a permanent post and is full time working 37 hours per week. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
