Senior Stores Assistant

The Department of Physics, Cavendish Laboratory, is looking for a Senior Stores Assistant to join a small team, responsible for the smooth running of the Stores.

Based on the West Cambridge site, the Cavendish is anticipated to move to its new home, the Ray Dolby Centre, in 2024, which will mark the start of a new era for physics at Cambridge. The new state of the art facility is being purpose built for our world leading research programmes.

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Stores person looking for a new role, where there is a focus on excellence and customer service?

The Senior Stores Assistant will play a key role in the move and the main duties will include, but not be limited to:

• customer service
• receiving goods-in and maintaining stock levels
• supplier liaison
• maintenance of the inventory system
• assisting with stock takes

The successful candidate will be well organised, have excellent working knowledge of a busy Stores and enjoys interacting with a wide range of people.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
