We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Research in Translational Immunology to join the Translational Pharmacology group led by Associate Professor James Fullerton (https://www.ndorms.ox.ac.uk/team/james-fullerton). The group focuses on the development and use of in vivo human immune challenge (HIC) paradigms to: i) Explore fundamental human immunology, with an emphasis on the basis of inter-individual variation in inflammatory and immune responses; ii) Understand both how this variation may contribute to disease (or risk of disease), and how disease, once manifest, as well as the drugs used to treat it, impact the immune system; and iii) Catalyse the development of novel immunomodulatory therapeutics via establishing pharmacology and proof-of-mechanism during early phase clinical trials, often in healthy volunteers. Based at The Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford and will be reporting to Associated Professor Fullerton you will join a diverse, dynamic and rapidly expanding research group comprised of both clinicians and non-clinicians whose focus is on improving human health.

As a Senior Researcher in Translational Immunology, you will take overall responsibility for generating and developing research questions within the fields of fibrosis, innate immunity and immunopharmacology. You will independently plan and conduct research, analysing detailed and complex qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, and generate original ideas by building on existing concepts. You will be responsible for providing significant input into the direction the research takes and granted autonomy in decision making whilst keeping the Principal Investigator informed at all times. Through established connections with industrial partners and collaboration with researchers within the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology there will significant scope for career development and progression.
