This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced researcher with an enthusiasm for quantitative evidence synthesis. You will join the Bristol NIHR Evidence Synthesis Group, one of nine groups contracted by the NIHR to conduct evidence syntheses within the NIHR remit.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team benefiting from working alongside international leaders in the field of evidence synthesis. You will also work closely with other team members including other reviewers, statisticians, information specialists, qualitative researchers and health economists.
As a lead reviewer, you will manage the day-to-day review processes and project-related administration. You will also make contributions to other ESG reviews, across all aspects of the process, including screening to identify studies eligible for inclusion in the review; extraction of information about included studies; evaluation of the quality or risk of bias of the included studies; and synthesis of the results of these studies using an appropriate approach (e.g., using meta-analysis or descriptive syntheses). There will be opportunities to develop methodological research projects related to the applied reviews commissioned by NIHR. You will contribute to the preparation of reports and papers for publication and participate effectively in activities to maximise engagement with research and/or impact beyond academia.
