This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, forward-thinking and vibrant team at a top ranking Russell Group University. Responsible for the activities of technical teams across diverse sites, this key position requires a highly motivated individual, with excellent communication and leadership skills and significant experience in managing people, projects, processes, and monitoring performance against targets. 

Applicants must have significant experience at managerial level in the laboratory animal sector and have a strong commitment to stakeholder engagement and sharing of best practice in a culture of care and continuous improvement. Our major strength at Nottingham is to deliver against a wide research portfolio embracing the One Health concept in a range of species including rodents, aquatics, small ruminants, cattle and poultry. The post holder is similarly expected to have husbandry knowledge and experience covering a range of large and small animal species and have strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines including the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and AWA 2006. Experience and awareness of the responsibilities of Named Roles is also essential to ensure processes and routines are fit-for-purpose to meet legal requirements, support a culture of care, and allow the delivery of the highest welfare standards.
