The Directorate of External Relations supports and enhances the University’s reputation through leading and managing a range of activities to attract students, staff and funding for the University. Our teams include Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions, Development, Alumni Relations, Communications, Web and Creative.

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Senior Marketing & Communications Officer within our Marketing Team, to maximise student recruitment and promote and enhance the national and international profile of the University of Dundee. The role will focus on developing and implementing marketing plans for recruiting students from Afri! ca and on e of the University’s schools, however the focus of the role may change according to business needs.

The University of Dundee has ambitious student recruitment targets from both international and home markets. Our award-winning marketing team, within the Directorate of External Relations, is critical to the delivery of these targets and manages channels to promote the University to prospective students and other key stakeholders. It leads on marketing campaigns, particularly on lead generation and conversion, and develops content for use across all channels, including digital, social media and print.

Your priorities will include:

  • Develop and implement marketing plans in line with the strategies agreed for the University and linked to budgeted student numbers.
  • Plan, set up, manage, monitor and analyse digital campaigns to generate leads in support of student recruitment, adhering to University of Dundee brand guidelines.
  • Proactively engage with colleagues and current students to develop a wide range of content (including copy, images, video and social) for publication across a range of media platforms and publications, to support student recruitment and promote University reputation. This will include content about students, staff, alumni and research.
  • Effectively manage and monitor budgets associated with those plans.
  • Jointly with other Senior Marketing Officers lead on University-wide marketing projects

Who we’re looking for:

  • Degree level qualification in Marketing, Communications, or other literate-related subject(s)
  • Extensive experience in creating and implementing marketing plans
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience of content development and delivery (copy, video, images, social content)
  • Strong digital media skills and digital marketing and social media experience
  • Understanding of the importance of brand management
