Senior Library Assistant (weekend - job share) - INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY

To provide a lead role in the smooth and effective running and day-to-day operation of loan operations and related customer services.  This will include supporting the delivery of excellent enquiry services and the efficient functioning of the loans team.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Library Assistant to work on Saturday and Sunday evenings to oversee a friendly and professional team delivering front facing services to students, academics and visitors in a library which has been awarded the Customer Service Excellence standard.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of dedicated staff who are committed to putting customers at the heart of service delivery. You will play a leading role in library operations on Saturday and Sunday evenings including:

• Troubleshooting self-service loan operations
• Decision making around more complex enquiries at the information desk
• Training and supporting staff 
• Organising rotas for desk cover in the evenings

The library is a popular and vibrant place and we are looking for people who have great communication skills, are able to build excellent team working relationships and who take responsibility for ensuring that tasks are undertaken to a high standard. The library can be very busy and we need staff who respond in a calm and professional manner adhering to our values of respect, ownership and integrity.

The successful candidate will be joining a supportive team who are dedicated to ensuring that our students have a great experience of using library services.

Working hours are: Sundays, 5pm - 11pm
