CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING (CIDT)

Over the last fifty years the Centre for International Development and Training (CIDT) has earned a reputation as a centre of excellence for capacity strengthening, training, consultancy, applied research and project management in more than 120 countries see www.wlv.ac.uk/cidt. 

Operating as a social enterprise, CIDT is 100% funded by external income, and CIDT staff need to be actively entrepreneurial. The Centre provides services for Governments, multi-lateral and bi-lateral development agencies, national and international non-Governmental organisations.

CIDT wishes to recruit an enthusiastic, people-centred international development professional to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team.  To be considered for this post you will have an understanding and experience of global sustainable development work and be prepared to work both in UK and overseas.  You will   be qualified to master’s level in one or more of the following core areas of our work: Global Sustainable /International development/ Development Studies, Development Effectiveness, Gender and Social Inclusion, Sustainable Livelihoods, Natural Resource Management, Forest Governance or Education and Development and have expertise in the related fields. You will have a proven track record in at least one of the following areas:  consultancy, project management, applied research, capacity strengthening, training and/or evaluation.  You will have experience in networking and business development.   You will be skilled in facilitating participatory processes and have strong flexible team working skills.

You will be experienced in developing and leading small teams, bids, and proposals.  In this post you will be proactively engage in income generation / business development and delivery of consultancy, project management, technical assistance, training, and capacity strengthening services in order to contribute to CIDT’s self-funding business model. You will be prepared to work flexibly across the Centre’s areas of practice. It will be an advantage if you can work to professional standards in French as well as English.
