Applications are invited for Research &Teaching position in the Department of Psychology, School of Life Sciences and the Environment. We are looking for an ambitious, research-driven scientist with a background in any area of psychology or neuroscience. The post is available from 1 August 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. 

The department is internationally recognised for world-class research and teaching. The Department was ranked joint 3rd in the UK for its research excellence in the REF2021. We also receive strong ratings from our students for teaching (NSS). The Department has excellent research facilities, including a research-dedicated MRI, EEG, TMS, eye trackers, behavioural testing suites, and social and infant observation labs, as well as strong links with clinical organisations and government, industry, and charity affiliations. We are proud of our atmosphere of strong collegiality in the department; we are highly committed to principles of equity and diversity and we recently renewed our Athena Swan Silver Award. Candidates should have a strong publication track record and a record of attracting competitive funding. They should bring new potential for delivering ground-breaking scientific discoveries and will make a strong contribution to our vibrant research culture. Applicants should also demonstrate strong commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for our students and possess the broad range of skills required to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are looking for a colleague with ability to contribute to administration and leadership in the department. An appointment will be made at Reader rather than Senior Lecturer level if the application evidences outstanding research achievements at the higher level. 

Reader will make a broad and sustained contribution to the field and discipline nationally and internationally, and to demonstrate sustained and exceptional performance in research.  Whilst an Senior Lecturer will provide academic leadership in both teaching and research, with a sustained contribution to the field and discipline at national and international level. Candidates only need to submit one application to be considered for both levels of appointment. Applicants should indicate which role they are applying for in their application. 

This is post based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and Heathrow Airport, and within commuting distance from Central London.
