Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 07 Apr 2024

The School of Law at Oxford Brookes University provides an intellectually stimulating, friendly and supportive environment in which to work and study. As part of its development strategy, the School of Law is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to further support its teaching, research and knowledge exchange strategies. The post will be for a ‘Co-Curricular Lead’ role

We are seeking candidates who will contribute to our research culture, enhance our student experience and employability strategy, and contribute to teaching particular courses.

Successful candidates will have a record of teaching (or evidence of an ability to teach) students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in several current areas of need, such as (but not limited to) Contract, Tort, Land, Equity, Skills/advocacy, English Legal System, Commercial and Company Law.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with experience of legal practice, to take a lead on the co-curricular offering for law students at the university. You will need to draw on or develop extensive professional networks, support students in developing their practice related skills, and identify opportunities for the growth and development of co-curricular activities. You will be expected to show leadership and administrative skills in organising events and enhancement activities, as well as contributing to teaching on at least one module as outlined above. The role offers the chance to develop and progress in the education and student experience promotion pathway as part of a highly motivated and supportive team. This post will be particularly attractive to individuals with experience of legal practice seeking to progress their careers in higher education.

Interviews are planned for the 25th and 26th April 2023. They will be in person, but can be online if needed.

If you would like to discuss any of these roles, please contact Chara Bakalis, Deputy Head (Strategy and Development), School of Law and Social Sciences - [email protected]
