The University's Finance Transformation Programme is an ambitious programme work which aims to create a compelling new future for Finance across the University of Cambridge. Projects within the programme include Strategic Procurement & Purchasing, Enhanced Financial Transparency, and replacing our current finance system.

The Role

You will work with sponsors and teams to drive faster adoption, higher utilisation and greater proficiency of the changes that impact staff to achieve positive results and outcomes. Your focus will be on the people side of change including changes to business procedures, processes, systems and technology, job roles and organisation structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans (covering communications, training, sponsorship, the role of line managers, and resistance management) that maximise employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.

You will work closely with finance management team, the University finance community, School Secretaries, Departmental Administrators and other stakeholders to collectively champion improved working practices.

Your Skills

The ideal candidate for the role will:

  • Have experience of facilitating and promoting large-scale cross-organisational change initiatives.
  • Be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how people go through change, the process and appropriate tools and techniques to be applied to enable & sustain change.
  • Be able to quickly build and maintain positive relationships and foster collaboration among team-members and stakeholders.

Candidates for the role will be educated to degree level and/or possess an equivalent professional qualification. Ideally, you will possess formal Change Management qualifications (e.g. APMG Practitioner, PROSCI level or equivalent).

Location

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way where their role allows.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
