Senior Administrator

Updated: about 2 months ago
Location: Nottingham, SCOTLAND

Want to work in a fast paced, rapidly expanding new business unit at the University of Nottingham?

We are seeking a Senior Administrator to join us in Nottingham Drives Specialist Services (NDSS), a Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre.

Housed in the purpose built Power Electronics, Machines and Controls Centre, we are a rapidly expanding business unit within the Faculty of Engineering offering use of the testing and development capabilities within the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD) sector. The services we offer are unique and world leading, attracting industrial customers from across the world spanning multiple industries.

What will you be doing?

No two days will be the same here at NDSS as we expand our customer base and projects. As our Senior Administrator you will provide general administrative support across our business functions.

A large portion of the role will be customer-facing, so attention to detail and an enthusiastic approach are crucial. You will be the key to ensuring our customers receive the highest standards of service by ensuring the correct documentation is in place for our projects and services. Coordinating all internal and external visits, both to us and by us, you will play a key role in exceeding our customers’ expectations. Additionally, you will be coordinating attendance at national and international trade shows and conferences.

You will prepare reports for our management teams and will be expected to identify and interpret content and, where appropriate, make suggestions for improvements. You will also be responsible for processing customer payments, invoicing, and generating basic financial reports.

What qualities are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced administrator or someone with extensive administrative experience. While experience in a Higher Education or Engineering setting would be advantageous, it is not crucial, and we welcome applications from any sector background. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, great communication skills, and the ability to work and interact with a wide range of stakeholders.

Above all, we are looking for someone with drive, self-motivation, and a willingness to get stuck in who can work without supervision to help shape and grow us as a business.

Why work with us?

As we grow, we are looking for the right people to grow with us as we offer world-leading services to industry.  Electrification is a critical technology for achieving the worldwide commitments to tackle climate change and the University of Nottingham hosts one of the leading centres in the world for this.

This is a permanent, full-time (36.25 hours per week) post. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Hitendra Hirani email [email protected] Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
