Education and Academic Services brings together all the key administration and educational support that underpins the student and academic experience. Education and Academic Services (EAS) includes Faculty Operations, Sport, Arts and Culture, Teaching Quality Assurance & Enhancement and Education and Student Support. Faculty Operations includes a network of administrative teams embedded with Faculties, departments, institutes and research groups, each delivering locally based frontline administrative, customer service and business/project support to students and academic colleagues. These teams are highly integrated with student learning communities and academic leaders and are the frontline Professional Services delivery arm within localities.

The Faculty Operations team provides a crucial frontline service to support the delivery of the Faculty’s strategic education, research and global ambitions and is integral to the success of the Faculty.

Main Purpose of the Job

This new full-time post is available immediately within Faculty Operations to support the day-to-day operations of the Centre for Future Clean Mobility (CFCM).

This post is based on the Exeter Science Park with opportunity for hybrid working from home.

Working as part of an integrated Faculty Operations Services team, the primary role of this post is to provide administrative support to the Centre for Future Clean Mobility (CFCM), working within a wider team to deliver seamless support to staff, students and external contacts across a wide range of general administrative areas.

More specifically it will involve:

i) Support of existing and new partnerships with industry and other stakeholders (customer relations management)
ii) Administration of marketing communications, including social media and website, publicity targeted at industry and academia.
iii) Establish effective working relationships and networks with both CFCM members and partners and build collaborative relationships with key personnel within the University and industry contacts,
iv) Administer the group's finances, on day-to-day level, including monitoring of research grants and other associated budgets including reconciling expenditure and recommending corrective action if required,
v) Support the Director with the monitoring of existing projects,
vi) Liaison with other divisions of the university such as research services, finance and marketing and HR
vii) Assistant and monitor the academic recruitment process for the group
viii) Line management of centre administrator

The role ensures the frontline delivery of professional services in a timely manner ensuring that business is delivered to deadlines.

The post-holder must be able to plan and prioritise a busy and varied workload, will be expected to contribute to a range of key projects and activities, and will be capable of dealing with people at the highest level, both nationally and internationally.
