Queens’ College is delighted to invite applications for appointment as Rokos Postdoctoral Research Associates of the College. Under the terms of a generous benefaction from Mr Chris Rokos, each year a number of postdoctoral researchers can be made members of the Senior Combination Room and thus enabled to share in the social and intellectual life of the Fellowship. Appointment as a Rokos PDRA brings with it, among other benefits:
- access to the Senior Combination Room;
- three meals a week at High Table at College expense; and
- a personal research allowance of £1000 a year.
Appointment as a Rokos PDRA carries no specific obligations. However, those appointed are warmly encouraged to involve themselves in the intellectual and educational life of the College and there may be opportunities for suitably qualified candidates to involve themselves in undergraduate teaching. For 2024-25, the College would particularly welcome applications in the following subject areas: Computer Science, History (particularly American, Global, Intellectual, Ancient, Early Medieval and Modern European), Mathematics and Music.
The appointment is for one year in the first instance, and is renewable for a second year upon application. This year there are vacancies for eight Rokos PDRAs.
