About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our innovative Residential Life Team located in brand new offices on campus. We have two vacancies for managers in our small, friendly  service which would be perfect for anyone who is enthusiastic about creating a home and community for young people joining our University for the first time.

You will provide wellbeing support to our students living on campus and also co-create our vibrant Residential Life Programme with a lively team of Connectors drawn from our current student population. This programme aims to foster a sense of belonging and promotes student engagement in a supportive, respectful  and friendly campus community through shared enterprise, education, and entertainment. Our 50 Residential Life Connectors are jointly managed by the Residential Life Managers.

About you

You will be enthusiastic about working with young people, and ideally qualified to degree level. You will be full of ideas about events and activities to engage young people in to university life. You will have some experience of providing welfare or mental health support with relevant training. Some experience of managing mental health crises is desirable, as is a calm and resilient approach to high pressure situations. You will have the ability and experience to manage and train staff in addition to working to professional boundaries while dealing with both students and student staff. You will need the confidence to work independently and also to support other team members. A meticulous approach to administration is required to maintain our case management systems. Experience of working in a residential environment could be advantageous.
