The Department of Computer Science and Technology is an academic department within the University of Cambridge that encompasses Computer Science, along with many aspects of Engineering, Technology and Mathematics. We aim to be excellent in the research we do and actively promote collaboration to maintain the breath of our research. The Department's research is underpinned by the work of our Research Strategy Team, who play a vital role in enabling our academic researchers and students to conduct their research and to engage with industry and other organisations. We seek Research Strategy Coordinator, a role which helps coordinate activities within the team as well as providing administrative support to academics running significant research grants.

The team has a busy calendar of events to share the work researchers are doing in the Department with our industry network, alumni and the public. The role holder will help plan and support the team in delivering these events. The role holder will also support some academic activities directly such as helping arrange academic conferences and providing support to academics with significant research grants, working closely with the Department's finance office. We will also look to you to deliver aspects of the financial administration of our research projects, which will include monitoring grant expenditure, and supporting the raising or purchase orders and managing project timesheets. With well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with academic colleagues and researchers, you will represent the Department with a professional and consistent manner keeping senior colleagues and external members up to date with the progression of the projects.

The Research Strategy Team consists of six members of academic-related and assistant staff working collaboratively to support the Department. You will join this lively and welcoming team with experience of working in a busy administrative role, along with some factual and theoretical knowledge of project administration and coordination. Our professional services staff are empowered to take ownership of their work, and therefore, the ability to use your own initiative to drive forward key aspects of the role will be key to your success. Educated to HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualification or equivalent level of practical experience, you must be able to demonstrate your excellent written and oral communication and organisational skills.

The post is full-time, working 36.5 hours per week. However, we are happy to consider applications for part time and flexible working.
