Research Software Engineer

About the role
We are looking for a Research Software Engineer to join our Health Informatics Platform. In this multi-faceted position you will drive forward informatics and data-related software development in the Leicester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), through a combination of collaborative and independent working, requirements gathering and research software engineering.
About you
As the ideal candidate you will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, computer science or related discipline or has the equivalent professional qualification and experience. Alongside your education and experience, you will have previous experience of contributing to peer-reviewed research/technical outputs; proven software engineering  and analytical problem-solving capability; and expertise in relevant approaches and techniques.
