Applications are invited for the above fixed-term part-time post at 60% working in the School of Health Sciences.We seek a Research Officer to work on the Supporting Physical Activity through Co-production in people with Severe Mental illness (SPACES) study. The successful candidate will contribute to two work packages: a randomised controlled trial exploring clinical and cost effectiveness of the intervention and a process evaluation exploring its implementation.
Specific duties for this role will include:
Supporting the Programme Manager in the set up and delivery of the SPACES randomised controlled trial.
Acting as a point of contact for mental health trusts in England and Health Boards in Wales to oversee trial conduct from set-up to close-down.
In conjunction with the workstream leads, carry out a process evaluation of the SPACES intervention, conducting and analysing data from one-to-one qualitative interviews, focus groups and workshops with stakeholders.
We expect that this individual will take part in all aspects of the research process including participant recruitment and data management. Also ,contribution to manuscripts and publications where appropriate. The individual will communicate regularly with Dr Emily Peckham who is the chief investigator for the study and Matthew Faires who is the Programme Manager based at York St John University.
Candidates should be educated to PhD standard (or equivalent) in a health or physical activity related field and have previous experience of qualitative methods including experience of coding, analysis and integration of diverse qualitative data. Experience of randomised controlled trials is desirable.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
