The Department of Public Health, Environments and Society is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Transport, Environment and Health to work on two related projects on the effects of climate action on health:
- ‘Policy and Implementation for Climate & Health Equity (PAICE)’ funded by the Wellcome Trust
- ‘Children, Cities and Climate (CCC) Action Lab’ funded by Fondation Botnar
The post-holder will develop and apply models to assess the effects of climate-relevant transport policies on health.
Suitable candidates must have a postgraduate degree (ideally a doctoral degree) in a relevant topic and are likely to have a background in quantitative epidemiology, environmental science, public health or related discipline. Experience in conducting quantitative research is essential and experience of writing peer-reviewed publications would be an advantage.
The post is full time and fixed-term until 28 February 2026. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and Fondation Botnar and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the Academic Pathways salary scale at Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting).The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
