Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

The role

The Institute for Communication Systems (ICS), home of the 5G/6G Innovation Centre (5G/6GIC), is looking to recruit a Research Fellow in applied adversarial machine learning. This exciting opportunity will contribute to the D-XPERT (AI-Based Recommender System for Smart Energy Saving) project.

The D-XPERT project represents a ground-breaking innovation in energy-efficient building management, addressing the pressing challenges posed by energy consumption in the UK and beyond. This innovation represents a transformative force in enhancing building energy efficiency and sustainability.

The applicant will work in the area of developing an intrusion detection system and aims to conduct a threat analysis through the data gathered from HVAC systems to preserve the trustful AI of the D-XPERT project architecture and its components. The work will also analyse secure cybersecurity scenarios and establish incident access control procedures

ICS is the largest academic research institute in Europe specialising on all aspects of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). It is home to over 200 researchers with expertise in all communication and broadcasting systems and has developed the best in class large scale testbeds for research and innovation and enjoys the state of the art lab and computing facilities.

5G/6GIC established in 2012, is the world’s first dedicated centre in researching end-to-end aspects of 5G and works closely with national and international leading academic institutes and key industrial partners.
