We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled researcher to join the Neuropsychological evaluation and rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis (NEuRoMS) project (www.neuroms.org). This is an NIHR-funded project that aims to develop and evaluate a cognitive screening pathway for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), and a neuropsychological rehabilitation programme for people with MS with mild cognitive problems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the NEuRoMS study, in conjunction with the Programme Manager, and data collection under the supervision of the Chief Investigator. In addition, the role-holder will contribute to the preparation of interim and final study reports and assist with dissemination of study results, including preparing manuscripts for publication and presenting the findings at academic and healthcare conferences.
The role holder will join an established multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers, led by Professor Roshan das Nair, whose main areas of research interest include applying psychological and neuropsychological theories to better understand and treat psychological issues stemming from neurological conditions.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Psychology, Nursing, or other Allied Health Professional subjects, or the equivalent in professional qualifications (e.g., DClinPsy), and have experience in the research area. Strong research skills (including clinical trials, and quantitative and qualitative methods, preparing HRA/REC documents for ethical approval, applying for grant applications) are essential. Experience of working with people with MS or other neurological conditions is essential. The post-holder will be required to travel to multiple research sites across the UK.
This is a full-time post (36.25 hours), fixed-term for 12 months. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Gogem Topcu (Programme Manager), [email protected]. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
