We are inviting applications for a Research Fellow to join our research program funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the laboratory of Ramiro Alberio, to develop an in vitro gametogenesis platform. The primary goal of the project is to develop new understanding of germ cell development and to this aim we will use genomic and epigenetic technologies to study bovine germline development via spatial transcriptomics and epigenomic techniques such as Cut&Tag and ATAC seq. 

The successful applicant will have extensive demonstrable experience in bioinformatics applied to developmental biology, and thorough knowledge of stem and germ cell biology. and will work in close collaboration with other team members. 

Applicants must be highly motivated and self-driven, and able to work independently and collaboratively. Applicants will have a PhD in Genetics/Bioinformatics biology or related area of biological science. A track record of publishing research is also desirable. Experience in next generation sequencing and in the use of molecular biology techniques (gene expression analysis/protein expression/gene editing) is desirable for this role.

This full-time post (36.25 hours/week) is available immediately and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years. Job share arrangements may be considered.
