The Opportunity:

The Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) within The University of Edinburgh seeks an experienced social science Research Fellow with appropriate experience for this exciting opportunity.

The ACRC programme, led by the University of Edinburgh, has been established to research and develop innovative solutions for the care of people in later life that can promote and maintain healthy ageing. Central to the ACRC interdisciplinary approach is a commitment to working in partnership with people in later life, their families, and communities, and to creating a sustainable UK-wide collaboration to ensure excellence and impact.

This post is fixed term from a start date as soon as possible until 31 December 2025.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD in a relevant social science discipline, or equivalent professional doctoral degree in a related subject. 
  • Relevant postdoctoral experience of conducting qualitative and mixed methods research, and postdoctoral experience relevant to post as described;
  • Evidenced knowledge and skills in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research methods, including advanced analyses and interpretation of data;
  • An emerging track record of publications commensurate to the stage of career, as co- or lead author;
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute significantly to the development of successful research funding applications;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
