The IFRC will advance strategies to sustain positive research cultures by underpinning a portfolio of activities that will break barriers, support career transitions, and develop a caring inclusive interdisciplinary community of researchers. It will support the development of listening leaders and has core initiatives to flexibly support the careers of women, BAME, early career researchers and primary caregivers. We will engage 'Hidden' researchers from the many University roles who make key often unrecognised contributions.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Research Culture and Environment Administrator to ensure the effective delivery the Wellcome IFRC, to ensure alignment and support wider research culture activities across the University. You will provide excellent levels of support and service to all stakeholders, ensuring that work is carried out within the University's procedures and policy guidelines. You will maintain extensive working contacts across the University and establish yourself as the point of contact for the area. This post is supported by external funding, with an end date of 30 April 2026, for this fixed term post.

Your priorities will include:

  • Together with IFRC Management Committee evaluation leads, be responsible for leading the evaluation of the activities supported by the IFRC.
  • Coordinate the establishment of a diverse participant advisory group to co-produce the evaluation tools and provide on-going critical reflection on the process and outcomes.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis and prepare data for dissemination.
  • Be responsible for obtaining ethics approval, information governance, data cleaning, organisation, anonymisation and transcription, and back-up as required in line with legislation and good practice.

Who we're looking for:

  • A PhD in a relevant social science subject area is essential.
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Solid knowledge of the broad range of social science research methods, both qualitative and quantitative.

Conveniently located on the banks of River Tay, our main city-centre campus is at the heart of Dundee - an up-and coming, friendly, compact and affordable city with a rich heritage in design and technology. We also have campuses at Ninewells Hospital and in Kirkcaldy which are easily accessible via local transport links.

The closing date for applications is 12 February 2024. With interviews for this appointment taking place on 5 March.
