As a Research Computing Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in promoting research data and computing services, supporting researchers and academic staff in harnessing these resources, ensuring their effectiveness and showcasing their research impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liasing with our academic community to facilitate the delivery of advanced research computing solutions, advice, and support.
- Supporting our governance and working groups to facilitate effective communication and follow-up.
- Organising events such as workshops and seminars to foster networking opportunities and promote and showcase the impact of advanced computing.
- Collecting evidencing of the demand for research computing resources and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinating and promoting our service catalogue of our expertise and solutions.
- Identifying and recommending improvements to enhance the quality of service.
- Coordinating communication plans to elevate the profile and impact of our services.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines within resource constraints.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to motivate colleagues.
- The ability to quickly understand academic research computing and data needs.
- Proficiency in arranging events and coordinating speakers.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and presentation.
- Experience in writing for various audiences and media.
Experience in a computational or data-intensive research or teaching environment is desirable, but not essential, for this role.
