Applications are invited for a talented Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Group of Dr Melissa Gammons. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced molecular/cellular biologist to break new scientific ground investigating the molecular mechanisms of Wnt signal transduction pathways and how these are disrupted in disease. The successful candidate will be expected to design, carry out and appropriately analyse experiments encompassing cell-based assays, proteomics screens, super-resolution microscopy and protein biochemistry using state-of-the-art tools and resources. The post-holder will be expected to work independently yet collaboratively to achieve the goals of the projects. Good record keeping, high scientific integrity and a friendly, collegial attitude is essential.

Applicants should hold a PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology or a related discipline. You should have the ability to design and implement experiments and have substantial experience in molecular biology techniques. A proven track record of producing high quality data is essential and you will have strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to effectively prioritise lab duties, both independently and as part of a team.

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the Wellcome Trust for 3 years in the first instance and is based at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR), Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge.

This position is graded on the University's Grade 7 scale, for which the salary range is £36,024-£44,263 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualification and relevant skills acquired and will be determined by the funding available.
