Applications are invited for postdoctoral research position within the Computational Cardiac Imaging Group, led by Prof Declan O’Regan We are seeking a talented scientist with a background in mathematics or computer science with previous experience in cardiac image segmentation and motion analysis.
This post is part of a 4-year NIH program in a partnership between Imperial College London and Brigham and Women’s Hospital using machine learning to understand mechanisms and outcomes in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This disease is a leading cause of sudden death in adults and this program aims to develop a better understanding of which patients are most at risk.
Duties and responsibilities
You will have an opportunity to work in a diverse team that brings together clinicians, mathematicians and geneticists to work on problems that are key to human health. Essential requirements
- Research Associate: Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Research Assistant: Near completion of a PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant.
- Previous experience cardiac image segmentation and motion analysis
- Broad knowledge of ML architectures for classification and prediction tasks

This is a full time, fixed term role until 31st Augst 2025 based at Hammersmith Campus (East Acton).
Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range £40,694 - £43,888 per annum.
