The group of Prof Ulrich Keyser, Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, invites applications for a research associate to join our team working on single molecule detection using nanopores sensing. The goal of this project is to optimise the sensing conditions for structure determination of DNA molecules that are made from DNA nanotechnology. The research will guide the further development of single molecule biosensors and explore the limits of position resolution and information encoding into the DNA. Prior experience with DNA nanotechnology, protein sensing, biotechnology and biology are required.
The successful applicant will be part of a collaboration with a company providing the funds and structured polymers for readout targets. The candidate should have an undergraduate degree in biotechnology and a PhD in single molecule biosensing. In addition extensive experience in glass nanopores, nanopore sensing, protein detection, optical spectroscopy, and DNA nanotechnology are mandatory. Experience in working in an interdisciplinary environment is highly advantageous.
