An opportunity has arisen for a Research Fellow to join the One Virology special research area in the University of Nottingham’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. This dynamic and friendly team of scientists is located at the Sutton Bonington campus of the University of Nottingham and will soon be moving into refurbished laboratories as part of the Wolfson Centre for Global Virus Research (WCGVR). This short-term post is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) UK Vaccine Network through the Innovate UK Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) scheme.

The successful applicant will work in collaboration with a post-doctoral researcher in the School of Pharmacy, based in the BioDiscovery Unit at the University Park Campus in Nottingham, to develop a DNA vaccine against Zika virus. They will assist with the cloning of vaccine constructs and focus on measuring antibody and T-cell responses to the vaccines. They will also contribute to writing research papers and new grants to support continued research. 

The post is offered on a fixed term contract until 30 September 2024. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
