Research Associate - Ammonia / Hydrogen Utilisation

You will carry out research on Ammonia/Hydrogen utilisation working on OceanREFuel project. OceanREFuel has been conceived to support the transition towards a zero-carbon economy via the use of hydrogen produced from offshore wind facilities. Hydrogen can be used directly or transported/distributed as ammonia. As part of this project, the University will evaluate different options to employ the latter for support to renewable energy storage and distribution, efficient power generation, zero-carbon transportation and heat recovery, amongst other topics. Employing state-of-the-art techniques through novel concepts, robust institutional collaboration and continuous engagement with the government, the program will enable the development of incipient technologies and human resources for the best utilisation of ammonia as an energy vector.

In your role, you will conduct research within the area of ammonia and hydrogen utilisation and contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University. You will carry out research leading to the publishing of high-quality research, pursue excellence in research and inspire others to do the same.

This post is full time, available immediately and fixed term for 2 years.

Salary: £34,304 - £40,927 per annum (Grade 6). It is not anticipated that an appointed will be made above Grade 6.30, £34,304 per annum.
