The job involves setting up and running the StrathE2E marine fisheries-ecosystem model for regional shelf seas around the Atlantic Ocean for several large collaborative Horizon Europe and UKRI projects. You will need to be proficient at R-coding, writing and presenting project deliverable documents and writing manuscripts for publication.

FTE: 1 (35 hours/week)

Term: Fixed Term (22 months)

We are seeking two Postdoctoral Research Associates to work in the marine modelling group of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The successful candidates will join our team working on applying and extending the scope of the StrathE2E marine ecosystem model for regions of the Atlantic Ocean (https://outreach.mathstat.strath.ac.uk/apps/StrathE2EApp/ ), contributing to research being carried out in the Mission Atlantic (https://missionatlantic.eu ), OceanICU (https://ocean-icu.eu ), and SEAwise (https://seawiseproject.org ) research programmes.

The successful applicants will have obtained, or recently submitted, a PhD in a quantitative field of marine environmental science. They will need to demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of research on marine fisheries and climate change, and their effects on food webs and the marine environment. They will also show an aptitude for writing research articles for publication and be proficient at coding in R and managing large datasets.
