We would like to appoint a Research Assistant to join a new NIHR-funded programme of research in collaboration with NICE, researching the role of real-world data in developing clinical guidance and understanding implementation. The postholder will work on a series of innovative research studies related to important public health topics within large health datasets and/or study evaluation of uptake in relation to inequality.   The post offers an excellent opportunity to gain expertise in use of real-world data through design and conduct of studies, to develop a track record of publications and to work with health policymakers. It is expected that the successful applicant will undertake a PhD within the post.

Based at LSHTM, the post-holder will be embedded within the supportive and friendly Electronic Health Records Research Group and will work closely with internal and external collaborators. 

The post-holder should have a relevant MSc in the field of epidemiology, medical statistics, health data science or a related subject. Relevant experience working with large, linked health datasets and experience using a relevant statistical package such as Stata or R is essential. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term for 3 years. The post is funded by the NIHR and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway scale Grade 5 in the range £38,282-£43,947 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
