The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher to work on research projects on mental health relating to the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North East and North Cumbria (ARC NENC) Supporting Children and Families research theme led by Prof. Judith Rankin and Dr. Ruth McGovern. Amongst other duties you will contribute to ongoing projects and to the development of new projects, as well as develop your own research programme in this area, write for publication, present results at meetings and conferences and supervise student projects.
This work is part of the NIHR ARC NENC and you will work across the other ARC themes and the ARC NENC network.
This is a full time post (37 hours per week), fixed term for 2 years

Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the delivery of ongoing projects in mental health in the family setting and to the development of new projects
- Develop projects in mental health as relating to children, young people and families
- Carry out research within agreed timelines, meeting project milestones and to an appropriate standard
- Attend meetings and other events appropriate to the projects
- Prepare papers for publication, and disseminate findings at conferences as required
- Support supervision of undergraduate and masters student dissertations
- Identify and undertake a programme of professional development, including further training in research methods and other transferable skills
- Carry out administrative tasks and other duties to support the NIHR ARC as required by the Director
