About us

UCL STEaPP is one of the newest departments in the Faculty, focused on the interconnections between science, technology, engineering and public policy. STEaPP is and inherently interdisciplinary department, with a mandate to develop relationships with diverse external policy, industry and civil society stakeholders, both in the UK and internationally.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Research Fellow to work part time for 20 hours per week, the contract duration is until 31 December 2026 initially. The duties include being a key member and coordinator of the trans-disciplinary, multi-partner Innovation Ecosystems Lab at UCL-STEaPP which has a number of concluded and on-going research projects with various academic and policy-facing outputs and further workstreams are being produced.

About you

The post-holder will lead and/or support analysis, reporting and pub lishing of research findings and must have qualitative and quantitative research experience with a Masters’ or PhD degree in social; sciences, science policy, innovation studies, public policy/administration, social policy, engineering or public health. Proven ability and commitment to carrying out high quality original research and experience of literature review, data collection, analysis and writing it up is essential. The ability to liaise with all stakeholders demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills and effectively present complex or technical information to a range of audiences is essential.
