The University of Salford has an exciting new opportunity for a Research Assistant!

This role will be part of the thriving research community of the University of Salford, playing a key role in the UKRI funded study Arts4US, following on from extensive research on the Arts for the Blues project and related activities.

The project aims to generate new evidence concerning:

(A) how to access arts activities that best support the mental health of children and young people;

(B) how to evaluate arts activities that meet the diverse mental health needs of children and young people;

(C) how to maximise the benefit of arts activities for as many children and young people as possible.

Key Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will work closely with children, young people and their families to co-produce the content of this platform that will enable access to place-based arts initiatives including arts therapies.

You will liaise with NHS trusts, schools and communities encouraging collaboration within and across systems, enabling the development of an agreed evaluation framework of best practice. This will support streamlining access to therapeutic uses of the arts as well as supporting scaling up and adopting the outputs from the study in national research.

Finally, you will contribute to the development of the project outputs with our 46 non-academic national and international collaborators, making active contributions towards tackling health inequalities that benefits the mental health of children and young people wherever they live.
