About the Role

The School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to appoint a Research Assistant to work closely with Principal Investigator on an ERC selected, UKRI funded project entitled “Digital Al-Andalus: Radical Perspectives Of and Through Al-Andalus” (Oct. 2023-Sept. 2029). The post-holder will undertake research and impact activities in collaboration with and under the supervision of Dr Cristina Moreno-Almeida (SLLF), at Queen Mary University of London, in order to fulfill the objectives of the research project.

This is a fixed-term and full-time post available due to research grant funding.

About You

You must possess an MA in Digital Studies, Media and Communication, or other relevant subject in Humanities and Social Sciences. Additionally, it would be desirable for you to hold a PhD in Cultural Studies, Media and Communication, Digital Cultures, or another relevant subject in Humanities and Social Sciences. You must have prior experience of education or experience in digital methods, including data scraping, network analysis, and NVivo, data collection and analysis, and writing up research results. Your English writing skills must be accessible, accurate, and engaging, and you should have a high level of proficiency in Spanish and/or Arabic. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team and possess strong interpersonal skills to deal professionally with people at all levels.
