The Nuffield Department of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Cell Biologist at the level of Research Assistant, within the Alzheimer’s Research UK Oxford Drug Discovery Institute.
The successful candidate will have a degree in the life sciences or equivalent experience. You must be able to demonstrate scientific rigour, strong attention to detail, enjoy lab work and operate with sense of urgency. You will have expertise in culturing mammalian cell lines, primary rodent neurons and using them in cellular assays. Robust technical knowledge in operating plate readers e.g. PHERAstar, Envision etc., together with some assay development experience will be required.
You will provide support to a range of projects therefore you will be working closely with other members of the team. You are also likely to work closely with other principal investigators based in the TDI or University departments, and their staff. This post will report to the Head of Biology.
This post is full-time, fixed-term for 3 years with the possibility of extension (ARUK funding initially proposed to run to September 2020 subject to annual reviews).
