An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Level 4Research and Enterprise Manager (Impact and Enterprise) to support the delivery of strategic and operational services in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. 

 The Faculty is one of the most successful of its type in the world, with research rankings that place us at the forefront of the UK’s research-intensive Russell Group Universities.  Our academic and research staff are defining and developing substantial areas of research that impact on the fast-changing world in which we live, and regularly win prestigious and highly competitive externally funded research grants and fellowships.  The Faculty has a proven record for winning significant research funding and is home to several advanced and cutting-edge research facilities. 

 This exciting role will be based in Faculty office and will have a particular focus on supporting enterprise and impact, with a large part of the role focusing on the development and gathering of evidence for impact case studies for REF 2029 and embedding impact into day-to-day life for our researchers.  The post holder will also work closely with the Associate Dean Enterprise providing administrative leadership and operational direction for enterprise activities across the Faculty.

 The role requires a self-motivated and proactive individual to provide operational direction and management of a busy administrative workload.

 The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of managing processes to support research and enterprise compliance, such as REF & KEF.
  • A proven track record of providing high-level operational support to senior managers, and providing management of operational, planning, and business-critical projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; personal agility, great time management skills and the ability to build strong credible relationships with a wide a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of leading, managing and building administration teams, coordinating resources and logistical requirements, ensuring that the teams are providing effective support.
