We have an exciting new opportunity to be part of a major national sustainability and climate change outreach programme. We are seeking to recruit a Regional Hub Manager for the East Midlands Hub of the Climate Ambassador programme.
In December 2023, the University of Nottingham alongside a number of other partners were successful in bidding for a DfE contract to facilitate regional networks of support and advice for sustainability and climate action planning in the education system
You will be employed as part of the University of Nottingham Sustainability team and will be supported by the Head of Sustainability and the Universities for Nottingham partnership to ensure you have the support you need to access the various expertise, networks, and resources the organisations have.
Working across the East Midlands region you will be responsible for coordinating the regional hub for the national Climate Ambassadors programme: recruiting and supporting volunteer Climate Ambassadors to engage with local nurseries, schools and other education settings, to help these education providers develop and deliver on Climate Action Plans.
The Regional Hub Managers across the country are critical to the success of this project. Their role has a dual function:
- To understand the region’s needs and use these insights to shape the national Climate Ambassador programme.
- To adapt national Climate Ambassador Strategies and practices to their local region, delivering these to ensure strong engagement of both education settings and volunteer ambassadors.
You will be a key part of the national Climate Ambassador programme, as part of a team with the eight other regional hub managers. About a third of your role will be spent recruiting and supporting regional Climate Ambassadors from across industry, academia, and civic society, a third of your role will be recruiting and supporting regional education providers. The final third of your role will be spent contributing to the national Climate Ambassador programme.
Now is an exciting time to be joining the University and taking up this role. There are bold plans for the University and the development of the estate; the Sustainability team is a high-energy, positive and dynamic team, and the university offers a fantastic working environment, inspiring campus facilities and a host of generous staff benefits.
This is a full-time (36.25 hours), fixed-term post to 1st March 2026. Arrangements for job share may be considered.
Further details on the qualifications and experience required for the post can be found on the attached Role profile.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to David Butler, email [email protected]. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
