Overview

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a Purchasing and Finance Officer to provide logistical and technical support to the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. The post-holder will be responsible for three key operational aspects of the School, stores management, procurement and financial. Working closely with the Finance Manager the successful candidate will develop and maintain a broad professional network both internally and externally to Queen Mary to ensure all School activities are appropriately supported and compliant with relevant policies and legislation.

About You

You should have experience of working with financial records/administration procedures and knowledge of legislation around financial and procurement regulations. Numeracy skills including effective reconciliations, managing varying VAT status & rates, currency conversion, monitoring of expenditure against budget are also essential. A good understanding of the Higher Education sector is desirable.

The School of Biological & Behavioural Sciences (SBBS) is one of five Schools in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. It is one of the largest Schools at Queen Mary University of London, with approximately 1800 students and c100 academic staff members, who carry out excellent education, research and public engagement activities, with support from 32 administrative staff and 26 technical staff.
