LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university
Salary from £33,558 to £38,541 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £41,404 pa inclusive of London allowance
The London School of Economics and Political Science is looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting role for a recent graduate, researcher or someone working in politics or communications more widely, who is looking to increase their understanding of public affairs and communications in a fast-moving, friendly environment.
LSE has confirmed its position as a world-leading research university and its research spans the full breadth of the social sciences, from economics, politics and law to sociology, anthropology and finance.
The post holder will support the implementation of strategies to develop and strengthen LSE’s relationship with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers and serve the School’s interests, both in the promotion of academic expertise and in anticipating and responding to developments that effect LSE’s business and reputation.
The post holder will play a key role in providing administrative support for stakeholder engagement work and helping the Public Affairs team plan for and execute its plans around political party conferences in the autumn, the approaching general election, and thematic set piece event delivery into 2025.
Candidates should have:
- A good knowledge of and interest in UK politics and Parliamentary procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to turn complex information into high-quality, concise and accessible prose tailored for a range of audiences.
- A motivated and enthusiastic approach to public affairs and an understanding of the value it adds to an organisation.
This is a great opportunity to learn about working in politics and public affairs in a friendly, highly-motivated team.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
