Project Administrator, ZERO Institute and Future of Cooling Programme

The ZERO Institute has been recently created to establish Oxford as a centre for thought leadership on the zero-carbon energy transition and accelerate research to real world impact. It involves academics across the university based in different departments and working across disciplines. As a Project Administrator to the Programme on Energy Use of the ZERO Institute (based in the School of Geography and the Environment) and the Future of Cooling (FoC) Programme, you will deal with a wide range of matters and provide support on organizational, financial, logistical and communication issues, including some of a confidential nature. The post-holder will be the point of contact for internal and external visitors for the ZERO Institute and Cooling Programme. You will be based at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, where the Geography lead for the ZERO Institute and the Future of Cooling Programme are based. The post holder will also contribute more widely to the delivery and dissemination of activities associated with the ZERO Institute.

The successful candidate should possess a graduate degree or demonstrate equivalent professional experiences. You will have demonstrable experience of communications activities, both print and digital. This includes the ability to draft correspondence and to produce well-presented reports. You will have excellent writing and oral skills and attention to details and excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders, including the ability to use tact and discretion to build effective and cooperative working relationships with colleagues at all levels. Ability to be highly organized, managed and prioritise a varied and busy workload and work to deadlines while managing multiple deadlines with a portfolio of projects. You will have a high standard of numeracy; the ability to manage finances with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and concise financial/research report. Experience of administration or project management and able to organise own workload and work to deadlines

The appointment will be available part time (70 % until September 2024 and 50% until December 2029 due to funding changes).
