We are actively seeking to hire a Professor in Health Economics, to join our growing, multi-disciplinary  programme team. Our education and research aim to make a positive, real-world impact on health and social care practice for local, national, and international communities.

As a member of the Allied Health & Social Care Sciences Subject Group, you will be joining a vibrant academic team who work with other colleagues across the school as part of a supportive, collaborative interprofessional community for both education and research. 

You’ll have the opportunity to work with our two fantastic research centres, our two Research Centres , the Centre for Cardiovascular Health and Centre for Mental Health Practice, Policy and Law Research which focus on key global challenges and lead ground-breaking work to improve policy, practice, and legal frameworks in both cardiovascular and mental health. They bring together research and stakeholders from across the university and beyond to provide cutting-edge research and innovative solutions that make a difference to individuals lives.

The Role

We are seeking applications from experienced and highly motivated candidates who have a strong academic track record in research and education in health economics.  As a Professor in this discipline you will lead research and income generation and you will be expected to contribute your health economics expertise to our undergraduate and post-graduate taught programmes.

This role demands both strong academic leadership, clear vision, and proven ability to forge connections across academic, policy, practice and third sector communities to continually build the reputation of the School and University. 

Essential requirements

  • Doctoral level qualification.
  • Knowledge of the UK healthcare landscape.
  • Professional qualifications relevant to discipline.
  • International profile that demonstrates esteem in the discipline.
  • Strong track record of generating external research and knowledge exchange income.
  • Strong portfolio of high-quality academic outputs.

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 per annum, depending on experience (Grade 8)
