The Sheffield School of Architecture is making a strong commitment to strengthening its internationally excellent profile, in architectural and urban research, socially engaged pedagogy, and impact through investment in key areas. As part of this investment we are seeking to recruit an exceptional candidate for thepost of Professor of Architecture. We seek applications from inspirational leaders with expertise in integrating architectural and urban design with social, economic and environmental purpose. It is expected that the post-holder will play a key role in advancing the School of Architecture’s excellent position in research as confirmed in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF). Our ambition is to continue to deliver research, research impact and knowledge exchange of the highest quality, alongside our exceptional research-led teaching, and innovation at an international level.
You will have an outstanding track record of research including an international reputation, excellent publications and other significant research outputs, substantial success in grant capture, evidence of research impact, proven skills in academic leadership and management, including team building, and a commitment to interdisciplinary and collaborative research and knowledge exchange. You will be able to recognise and build on the current research strengths of the School and have the ability to further enhance the next phase of the School’s research and impact profile in your chosen area. A key component of the role will be to provide leadership in research and mentoring of academic staff in research, publication, income generation and research impact activities. The post requires a contribution to research-led teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
