We are seeking to appoint a Professor in the Business School to join our active and expanding group of mid and early-career researchers, and to further enhance our research profile in business. Research in the Business School is based within the Management Research Centre, which is multidisciplinary, so we welcome applications from qualified candidates in any field of Business and Management. We are particularly interested to hear from those researching in the fields of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Economics, International Business, Business Analytics, Finance, Digital or Sustainability.
You will join an enthusiastic team with a commitment to high-quality teaching and academic enterprise which contributes to the Business School, Faculty and University’s strategic ambitions. You should be willing to share the University’s core values of creating a learning environment that is inclusive, challenging and promotes collaboration, professionalism, and confidence. You should have experience of delivering research-informed teaching at an institution of higher education or should be able to demonstrate the clear potential to do so.
The University of Wolverhampton holds a distinctive place within the higher education sector, and is one of the most successful modern universities, delivering excellence in teaching and research, widening access, and in business engagement. Today as the ‘University of Opportunity’, the University of Wolverhampton is an integral part of economic growth and social change within the West Midlands and beyond.
The Business School is based in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences and has a distinguished record of supporting people and organisations. We offer a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate courses, as well as a highly successful doctoral programme and professional development programmes. We have a strong track record of engagement with business and knowledge exchange including innovative developments in degree apprenticeships and professional education. Our strong industry links are reflected in our approach which is focused on the pursuit of rigorous and relevant applied business and management research.
Following a period of sustained success in recruitment, student satisfaction and business engagement, the Business School is located in a contemporary dedicated building with high quality facilities. The University is committed to investments to further enhance the Business School’s research.
Through the appointment of this role we aim to continue to build our research capacity, outputs and community. We seek to appoint scholars that share our mission to deliver high quality research that has relevance for practice, will underpin our curriculum and develop our community of early career researchers and PhD students.
