Do you have an interest in Procurement and Insurance? We have an exciting opportunity in our Finance Team for an existing University of Brighton student looking for a placement in the 2024/25 academic year.

This student placement opportunity will provide support to Procurement & Insurance Services and ensure the continued success of the team. In the role you will have the opportunity to learn about procurement and insurance management supporting the team with a range of tasks and ad-hoc projects, gaining valuable experience in areas such as:

  • General procurement practice including tendering.
  • Procurement law and contract management.
  • Insurance claim management.
  • Insurance renewal processes.

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Possesses a passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a helpful, confident manner.
  • Has a good working knowledge of IT, in particular the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Can work quickly and accurately, working as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Is confident to respond clearly to queries from staff across the University and suppliers.
  • Has previous experience, paid or unpaid, of working in a customer focussed environment.

The role is hybrid and has a requirement for 2 working days in the finance office, based on the Moulsecoomb campus, and the remaining week working from home.

Please note that this post is only open to current University of Brighton students looking to undertake a placement year. The role is anticipated to be for approximately 12 months with a start date to this post of July 2024, depending on the successful applicant's studies.
