About the Role

The role of the Process Analyst is to support the delivery of the Process Improvement Framework, working with projects and BAU activities to deliver process outcomes that drive business change. As a Process Analyst you will report to the Process Improvement Lead within the Strategy Delivery Office. Working collaboratively across a broad range of University’s Directorates, Faculties and Schools, you will deal with the day-to-day aspects of discovering, validating, documenting, and communicating business-process-related knowledge through modelling, simulating, and analysing current and future states.

Job Context

Process & Service Improvement, as a core discipline, is new to Queen Mary, as an embedded BAU activity. The vision is for the Service Improvement team to be highly visible and accessible to all internal university functions & customers providing an internal service to Queen Mary, working closely with existing staff (subject matter experts).

The team will be function agnostic, taking a best for organisation approach, ensuring adherence to pre- determined design principles, with a strong focus on tangible benefits,

  • cash (saving or cashflow improvement) – this may be realised or reallocated to more value-adding activities.
  • improved service (to academic service and to internal customers).
  • improved capacity for growth through greater efficiency.
  • empowerment of staff to address and not escalate issues.
  • improving staff/student satisfaction.
  • a combination of measures.

The focus of the team will be to support a culture of process ownership, collaboration, and process improvement.

About You

Candidates are required to have Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Equivalent.

The successful candidate will have experience in Lean Methodology or similar tools / methodology and knowledge of process modelling, analysis, and tools.  Stakeholder relationship management skills and proficiency in spotting trends and patterns in unrelated areas is highly desirable.
