We are looking to appoint a post-doctoral researcher to join a new team within the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. Reporting to Professor Rachel Upthegrove within the Molecular Targets Theme of the NIHR funded Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. You will be a key member of this research group working within the broad aim of developing evidence for novel treatment targets, repurposed therapeutics and stratified subgroups of patients with psychosis. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post is full-time, however consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 60% FTE) on a pro rata basis with appropriate adjustment of duties.
The post is for a fixed term (12 months with the possibility of an extension for a further two years)
A strong collaborative approach is essential, and the ability to work with colleagues across disciplines to enable successful delivery of projects. In addition to establishing new collaborations at the University of Oxford, a key role will be working closely with the University of Birmingham Psychosis research group, also supported by the Oxford Health BRC. You will co-lead and develop project activities, including data analysis and manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves project management, to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD/DPhil in a relevant subject area e.g., neuroscience. Demonstrable experience of advanced multimodal data analysis e.g., neuroimaging together with fluid-based biomarkers (genomic, proteomic or inflammatory markers) is essential as is the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities. Experience within the psychosis topic area and working in clinical trials and/or experimental medicine studies would be desirable.
You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.
The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on 10 June 2024.
